Tickets are not on Sale.

Come see Diego Rivera’s colossal Pan American Unity fresco mural and hear an assortment of stories about the making of the mural. This world class treasure was painted in 1940 at the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island expressly for City College of San Francisco. In 2020 the mural will be temporarily moved to SFMOMA as the star of a big exhibition on Rivera’s murals. After its stint at SFMOMA it will be installed in a new "Performing Arts Education Center" at City College to showcase the mural and to house the archive of unique materials from Rivera's two visits to San Francisco.

About the Guide for our Member Event

For 22 years Will Maynez has researched and lectured on Diego Rivera's Pan American Unity mural at City College of San Francisco. As the mural steward he maintains the mural’s website: He has written a one-act “Interview with Frida” and has just finished a play about a 1935 party that was thrown for George Gershwin in México.

He currently serves on various committees surrounding the SFMOMA-CCSF collaboration.
